Your file never leaves your browser
Everything this tool does happens in your browser tab. The PDF is opened, processed, and rebuilt by code running on your own device — it is never uploaded, so there is no server copy, no retention policy to read, and nothing to breach. Close the tab and it is gone.
Frequently asked questions
Is this PDF signer really free?
Completely free, with no account and no per-signature charge. There is no envelope quota like the paid e-signature services use, and nothing is added to your PDF except the signature you place. We earn from our paid bank-statement converter.
Do my PDF files get uploaded to a server?
No, and that matters here more than anywhere. Your signature and the document it goes on are both handled inside your browser tab. The page requests its own code and sends an anonymous usage count — that is the whole list, and your signed PDF is not transmitted or stored anywhere.
Is this a legally binding signature?
It stamps your signature onto the page as an image — an electronic signature, which is what most everyday agreements actually use and accept. It is not a cryptographic digital certificate, so it carries no tamper-evident proof of who signed. If your document specifically requires a certified digital signature, use a service built for that.
Can I draw or type my signature?
Both. Draw it with a mouse, a trackpad, or a finger on a touchscreen, or type your name and it is set for you in a handwriting-style font — there is no font list to work through. Either way it becomes a transparent image that you place on the page.
How do I get the signature in the right spot?
Type the page number it belongs on, pick one of nine spots on a 3×3 grid — the corners, the edges, or dead center — and set how big it should be with the size slider. It is a positioning grid rather than free dragging, which makes it quick to land a signature in the bottom-right corner where most forms want it.
